Good idea, poor controls

Good idea, but way too difficult to control. Im usually good at these games but I couldnt even pass the first level. My ship lurches around like a drunken sailor. More annoying than fun. Deleted it already.

Highly highly recommend!!

Theres a few things to be improved, but Ill start first with what makes this game innovative. Its hard to see its true innovation ... until you go to "Make". Here is where youll fully grasp and appreciate the games mechanics, rules, and scoring. For example: blues are multipliers and oranges are base score plus act as the "rescue" objects". BUT! Its critical to understand that a "pattern" of the level will actually LOOP until you collect rescue objects for that "pattern". What does this mean? First, it means that youll never "lose" your friend that you must rescue. No need to worry about him floating away forever. Secondly, the best tactic is usually to collect blue multipliers first. The red ones MUST be collected, but not the blues.... you have the risk of missing multipliers. Finally, the red objects are usually "core elements" for the level music. Blues often build onto the track in unique and interesting ways. These things are really fun to experiment with in Make mode. Improvements: Personally, I feel it took a lot of playing/tinking/revelation to fully grasp all of the mechanics. This meant needing to go to "Make". The gameplay isnt clear when you pick up and play. Your own experiences may vary, and its also great to have those "Matrix Moments". However, I think it might be wise to add more to your in-game tutorial. Eg. "If you miss an orange, dont worry! Itll come around again!" Next: the ship just feels "too heavy" to me. Ive seen similar comments in the other reviews. I think itd be great to provide a Sensitivity/Calibration setting. (or at least loosen it up a bit). I often feel like Im going to crack my iPad trying to fly upward... ;-) Its a small thing, but would really improve the feel of the controls, I think. Finally, the current first level really isnt the best one to start with. The music is a bit boring, choppy, and uninspired. Some of the other levels have a similar number of objects, but are brilliant. Overall: Great game! Beautiful achievement!

Overrated

This game is ridiculously boring and loses its charm within the first 5 minutes of gameplay.

Nope

You guys have not fixed it. PLEASE fix it!

Great game, needs a fix

The game is amazing. Great idea for a musical game. The only thing that needs to be fixed is the crashing: after a few levels the game, its stuck in the loading screen. Until you can fix this, I assure you the game will be truly appreciated and much more fun. Keep up the great work!

Interesting game hampered by lack of foresight

This is such a lovely little concept for a game. Its a shame its so ridiculously light on content, because its hard to recommend a $2 niche title one can complete - with respectable scores - in under an hour...maybe one or two more to master the packaged content. This should be no big deal because the game has a smart, fun little custom level creator. Its a little time-consuming to make levels that are fun to play, though, which means most people would probably largely use this feature to play the custom content created by other players. With a complete lack of game center support, no high scores for custom levels, and poor discoverability tools, though, this feature isnt nearly as cool as it could be. There are no incentives for spending the time to make cool levels if other players cant find them, or compete on them...the developer cant even be fussed to throw a few GC points at content creators? I could easily see myself mastering dozens of songs in Wave Trip if the good stuff were more commonplace and a little easier to find, but the developers havent built a nurturing environment for this feature. Without the custom content to pad its running time overmuch, its as I said: its hard to recommend.

Eh

Immediately got bored

Lacks documentation

Devs: Was this app made for toddlers, chimps, or some demographic who enjoys mashing their fingers into the screen to make the pretty lights and music turn on? Of course not; its for adult humans. So how about a little guidance on how the game works. You know, things like: -Game objectives -Instructions -Scoring -Level structure -Tips -FAQs -Contact / bug reporting -Other documentation, etc. Even just the basics would help. I spent 20 minutes looking for this type of info online (including your site), but gave up. Look, I like the game—I really do. But its hard for the masses to take it seriously if you arent truly invested in the full user experience. PROCESS: Ideation + planning; design the app; test it; build the app; test it; create suitable documentation; launch it; test it; market it; support it; test it. Its truly among those other important steps, and needs to be fully integrated with every app before leaving your studio. Do that — and this apps UX metrics will improve overnight.

Great fun

And innovative. I wish it didnt seem like it was abandoned though. Id love to see InterApp Audio and/or AudioBus support added, even if it was an in app purchase.

The vision alone earns 5 stars

With a little work this game could be amazing! The concept alone earned my undying love but this game needs a little tlc. Please update this!!! We need to be able to record and save our musical creations and there are many more fixes other ppl have mentioned. Please dont abandon this game, with a little work it could be so so very much more!
